I was born and raised in Florida for the first 35 years of my life. I saw snow for the first time as an adult on my honeymoon (2004) and didn't really experience a true winter until that time. You know, the kind of winter where you have to wear multiple layers, buy special shoes, and fireplaces are for more than just decoration. So for a really long time, I had romanticized winter and all that I thought it would be. And it was magical the first time I was in snow. I made a snow angel -- in fact. But I was at a ski resort and they were doing all the work for us. Shuttling us back and forth, salting the roads, shoveling the walkways, and keeping the fireplaces going. But if you live somewhere that has a TRUE WINTER, then you likely see it much differently than the visitors. Today's challenge was about me capturing my idea of winter in my art journal. TODAY'S CHALLENGE -- from Andrea GomollThe amazing Andrea Gomoll gave me this challenge: "Right now it's Winter - it's cold - it's grey ... especially during the darker season. We can use Art to add some color to our lives. Use THESE ART JOURNAL PAGES I made as inspiration for your own, colorful Art Journal Page to bring some color into your Day (and to your Art Journal). BUT (it would be too easy this way - right? :). The true challenge is to add a Winter Twist to the page somehow while still showing color. :)" Here's my interpretation: Make sure to check out all the teachers in the blog hop.
