Hey beautiful creative people, If you know anything about me, you should know that I love, love, love PENS!! I've been collecting them since I was 17 and very little brings me as much joy as getting a new pen (fountain pens especially).
As we enter the last 100 days of the year, I plan to share one new pen each day on the @how2artjournal Periscope account. I'll be showing you a different pen each day and talking about it and maybe even show a demo of how to write with it or ink it up or both. I'm excited about this and totally going on a whim and not planning anything about it. I'm just going to show up with a different pen each day and see what happens. This is sparked from my last 100 days of 2014 were I participated in the #100HappyDays project. That was a blast and so I'm kicking it up a notch and sharing something that makes me happy for the last 100 days. I'll post periodic updates here and on the howtoartjournal.com site. I can't commit to a specific time each day, so make sure you are following the account so you get notified when I go live. If you want to join in the fun, use #100PensProject in all social media spaces. Here's the first Periscope video where I share the first pen I ever bought with my own money. It was $40 and I was 17 years old. My mother could not understand it (and probably still doesn't). I worked for weeks to earn the money to get the pen. I think I must have stopped by the store two or three times a week to make sure the pen was still there. I was obsessed with owning that pen and I have no idea why. I couldn't explain it, but I just knew I had to have that pen. Take a look at the replay from Periscope and check out the first pen I ever collected.
Yep!! That's the pen that started it all and I have been collecting pens ever since. My favorite pens to collect are fountain pens, ACME brand pens, and pens that have something unique about them -- handmade by someone I met or special materials used to make them, etc.)
Make sure you're following me on Instagram (@kialagives) and let's connect and share our pen stories. Most pen lovers remember the story behind every pen. What's your first pen story?
