I’m Kiala Givehand. A midlife mystic on a mission to empower as many women as possible so that more of us can live aligned, healed, and fully integrated lives where we get to show up authentically in our gifts, talents, and passions. And it all begins with you owning your story!
Welcome to the magical (and sometimes mundane) musings of my heart, my soul, and my lived experience. Creativity is the one thing that continues to bring me back to myself no matter how far I stray or how dark the path. As a Leo Rising, creative expression is one of my superpowers. I am meant to navigate the world as a fiery creative following what lights me up, brings me joy, and allows me to play. I’m delighted that our paths have intersected in this moment. Every offering I bring forth is for spiritual creatives, aspiring mystics, and depth seeking artists who want more than inspiration. I create for me…the younger me, the now me, and the me I am becoming. I also create things for you, no matter where you are on your journey. |
I write personal narratives that sometimes pour out of me as poetry and other times as prose. I write stories…mostly true stories, but sometimes fiction (flash or short) about the people, places, and peculiar things I have encountered in my 53 years. I also write about creativity & creative empowerment, tarot, astrology, Human Design, manifestation, spirituality & spiritual awakening, integration, transformation, wisdom keeping, and personal & practical alchemy.
Let’s start with what you won’t find here…
I don’t write about, or entertain conversations about, politics. YES!! Regardless to what mainstream wants us to believe, we can be aware and active citizens of the world without also being soul-bruised & spirit-beaten by it. Also YES!!! I know what’s going on in the world and I choose, consciously, intentionally, and passionately, to cultivate as many spaces in my life where I am not bombarded with the rhetoric that hijacks my nervous system and natural rhythms.
This is one of those places.
I invite you to seek my spaces out when you too need a respite from the rhetoric of the moment.

I offer a steady stream of invitations that speak to the mystic in all of us using real talk and real stories. I am a mentor to creative & resilient women navigating midlife and beyond, thus, my offerings will be geared to that audience. I will show up and share truthfully and respond to thoughtful comments & emails with grace, care, and honesty. I will invite you to the classes I teach, the programs I run, and the retreats I host in hopes of inspiring you to join the community I’ve been building for more than two decades. I will share my personal creative projects so you can see that I walk my talk and that I’m in this with you. I will be the voice that reminds you of your power, your potential, and your purpose (if you have forgotten).

the formal bits...
I am a published poet & essayist, a bookbinder & fountain pen collector, and a writing teacher with six academic degrees covering topics in these areas: Sociology & Communications; English Education & Liberal Arts; Curriculum, Instruction & Technology, and I earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing - Poetry. I’m a certified creativity coach with professional training in archetypal studies, Jungian depth psychology, mythology, Reiki, Yoga, Astrology, Human Design, and non-clinical Expressive Arts. I taught in the formal K-12, College, and University systems for 18 years, helped start three charter schools in Florida, trained more than 5000 educators and administrators and have a plethora of achievements and accolades littered on my road to burnout by the age of 40.
I have lived a wide life. Done A LOT of things. Checked off a lot of accomplishments. Learned a massive amount of lessons and gained a ridiculous amount of wisdom along the way. I’m proud of the life I’ve lived and even more IN LOVE with the life I have now. It’s intentional. Every choice is conscious.
My journey is also sprinkled with two near death experiences, depression, and debilitating self-doubt that all eventually led me to make RADICAL choices about where I put my time & energy. All of those instances brought me closer to understanding the Universe and my place in it. And ultimately led me to a deeper connection and trust of my intuition and inner spark of Source.
I have spoken in more than 70 online summits since 2013 and continue to find ways to help women come back to their AUTHORity by accessing their creativity, reclaiming their energy, embracing their higher self, and expressing their Divine uniqueness.
I have lived a wide life. Done A LOT of things. Checked off a lot of accomplishments. Learned a massive amount of lessons and gained a ridiculous amount of wisdom along the way. My life is fueled by a passion to uncover, excavate, and reveal all the parts of me through dedicated & daily journaling, creative expression, and constant & consistent spiritual growth. I embrace the esoteric, welcome shadow work, and live my life the same way I guide others to live theirs -- authentically, unapologetically, with gratitude, and without regret.
