My Passion Planner Obsession

If you've been following me for more than one day, it's not going to be a surprise to you that I love all things productivity and planning related. But the one thing I absolutely don't want to be without -- my secret weapon -- is my Passion Planner. Today, I'm sharing why I selected it and what's so awesome about it. And at the end of this post, you can learn how you can WIN the same planner I'm using for 2017.

Planner & Bullet Journal

Now I know most of you know that earlier this year I started my very first bullet journal in a Leuchtturm1917 notebook. As I set it up for the first time, I realized that my way of bullet journaling was going to be much different than most. I was going to use my #bujo more like a "life operations manual" than a planner. I wanted to have collections and trackers and a space for documenting certain aspects of my life and my business, but I didn't want it to be my planner. I'll have a new post up for you about how my year in the bujo turned out and what I'll do differently next year. But the one thing that I won't change is this -- I won't use my bullet journal like a planner. That's where my Passion Planner comes in, and YES, I do need both.

Why I Selected the Passion Planner

It's quite simple, really. I've been a planner addict since before that term was something to be. I've always had a planner -- even as a 12 year old, I had a planner/diary. My mother use to bring me those plastic covered monthly planners that could fit in your back pocket and I thought it was the best thing ever. Fast forward many, many, many years and I've figured out exactly what I need and want in a planner. It has to fit the lifestyle I live and the way I plan. Here's how I think about planning:
  • My planner has to fit into my purse or backpack easily.
  • It has to have fountain pen friendly paper.
  • It has to have both monthly and weekly views.
  • The weekly view has to be a week on two pages spread so that I can see the entire week at a glance.
  • It has to have appointment slots in the daily views.
  • It has to have space for writing quick notes.
  • It has to hold up to a lot of opening, closing, being stuffed into a purse or backpack, etc.
  • It has to have a strap.
  • It has to have a page marker.
  • It has to have a space for notes on each week.
  • It has to have tabs for the months. (The Passion Planner does not have this, but I'll show you how I handle this.)
The Passion Planner meets all of my criteria in one planner, which honestly is somewhat of a miracle. But that's not the only reason I use it. I LOVE so many other things about this planner. Here's a few things that make it my number one MUST have tool for success:
  • The Passion Planner CEO, Angelia Trinadad is a woman of color and I love supporting female owned businesses.
  • She started the company in her mom's garage and within three years bought her mom a new car and moved into a warehouse space.
  • For two years she has given a FREE planner to every student and teacher at her old high school. THIS SEALED THE DEAL for me.
  • Angelia has a beautiful spirit of giving and her "Get one, Give one" program makes my heart smile.
  • The way she runs her company is heart and soul-centered and she treats her employees like family -- that's the kind of stuff that makes me say HELL YEAH and give you my money over and over and over.
I could go on and on, but my point is that it's bigger than just the planner. Yes, the planner is freaking awesome, but it's the PASSION behind it (pun intended). It's the spirit and the energy that goes into it. It's the intentional way the CEO and her employees care about the product AND the people who use it. I can't think of many other businesses that do that. So, I'm all in with the #pashfam community. One of the most energetic and fun-loving communities around and I'm THRILLED to be a rep for Passion Planner.

What a great idea for a planner, I was not familiar with this company until reading your post. Would love to have one, I'm sure it would help keep me better organized, and I love the section to record positive thoughts and gratitude, thanks for the chance.

Wow! This has LOTS of great features, and I love the story behind the company. I'd use it to start the year and have it focus on finally going through all my mother's stuff she left us and finding places for it all -- whether with family or through donations. I haven't been able to get up the "oomph" to tackle it all yet. A planner like this would keep me on track.

I will work on my project to create spaces where we can share our stories with one another so that we can clearly see how much we have in common as we work through this experience called life.

I will create 21st century versions of the early 20th century salons. Places where people can discuss important issues of the day.

I would keep track of a new passion, GTD system of David Allen, Getting Things Done. I really love it and so I would keep track of many things in that planner.
