Title: Traveling Art Structure: Double Signature Art Journal Dimensions: 6 ½ x 9 ½ Video of my process. You're probably wondering how many blank art journals one person can have or how many they need. Well, I'm of the camp that says you need as many as you can make :-). So I made another. This week's book is a traveling art journal that I created using my smallest Gelli Arts® gel printing plate. I love that thing. You've seen me use it before in books 13 and 30. The more I use it, the more I love it. I'm so sure I need one in every size :-). So my traveling art journal is going to go with me as I bop around throughout the state during the end of October, then to Texas in November and Atlanta in December. See, I'm planning ahead for art making while on the road. Stay tuned for a blog post about what's in my traveling art kit. This 40th book features a reclaimed cover from a Strathmore Watercolor Pad. I used the last few pages on the pad and figured I needed to do something with the cover, so I used it to make my journal cover. As I placed paint on the gel printing plate, I used the recycled cover like a waste paper and just transferred my extra paint onto it as I went along. The inside pages were the most fun, though. I tried to implement my new serendipity journaling method to the painting of the pages and it worked (for the most part). I got some cool layers using just three colors throughout. Finding variations started to prove challenging, but I'm always up for a good challenge. I'm looking forward to what next week brings. Stay tuned!
If you're watching the videos, I'm honored! If you're making the books, I'm intrigued, so please share here or on the Giving Hands Creative Community site.
