When the person I take care of is napping, I can be creative in some way, usually every day. :)

I just put Art time into my calendar of things I need to do. Sandy, you're a woman after my own heart. My calendar is filled with "art dates" with myself. I do the same thing for writing time. If we think of our creative time like we think of the other important moments in our lives, then we can absolutely make time for it!! Thanks for sharing your method.

I am fortunate in that I have a designated space for my creative ventures. I make certain that I spend at least 30 minutes in that space every day. It doesn't matter if I am working on a particular project, cleaning up or just looking through my stuff. I know that once I am in the room good things will happen. Oh Robyn!!! I so agree. If I step into my art space -- it's a done deal -- I will get some creativity time on the books. I'm so drawn in by my art that if it's late at night and I've left the lights on in the room, I have my hubby go in and turn them off because if I go in, I'll be in there for hours and it will be 5AM before I get to bed :-). Once I'm in there, I can't help but create. 12/2/2013 05:11:00 am
I don't have an art space so late at night I pull out my supplies and take over the dining room table and work till early morning. Live it. My alone time. But frustrating as I have to clear up each time. Ruth, I think many of us can relate. My art room is also my guest room, so when I've got folks over, I have to move out to the dinning room table or the floor of our entryway -- then I have to clean it all up at the end of my creative time -- but we get it done, right??? Right! There is so much power in simply showing up to create. Kudos to you for making it happen!!!

I make time for art by planning to be in my studio at a specific time, although I'm a fan of spontaneity also. So, if I feel like making art, I am flexible about rearranging my schedule! 12/2/2013 08:33:28 am
I left a comment earlier, don't see it now. But I liked, shared, twitted, followed and instagramed. YAY.

I turned a never-used guest room into my studio. I don't work so my time is my own and is only limited by fibromyalgia. I putter on this and that - from mixed media to miniatures/dollhouses.

Making time for art is a choice. I always have the time if I choose to watch less TV or not do another activity. I purpose to go into my art studio and create even if it is just for short periods every day. That is how I make the time for it. Barbara, you are sooooooo right!!! Less TV can add so much time to your day. I tell people all the time that the best thing I did when we moved across the country was to sale my television and NOT buy a new one. It has changed my life over the last 5 years and I've got so much more time to chill with my hubby and more time to make art!!! Thanks for sharing.

I usually created during lunch hour at work, at night when my girls are asleep, and with the girls on weekend! Thank you so much!

I am an art teacher so I am surrounded by art daily. You would think it would be easy to make time since it's all around me but I am busy helping others. I have been using my sketchbook and getting daily sketches in. My students love to watch and see what I am creating. I have a designated art studio and seldom clean it up. I keep papers out and spend time doing the same process on all the pages, both sides, until I get something I like. After that, I decide whether I want to doodle or add ephemera or paint. Sometimes i even finish pages, cut them up, and use them in a Happy Art Swap.

I would love to have a deck...I don't have any local people to inspire me, so I need all the encouragement I can get.

I make time for art/crafting everyday. I've always had my hand in lots of different hobbies throughout my life. I love the idea of your new prompt cards. If I don't win a deck, I'll definitely come back and buy one! Thanks for the inspiration. 12/3/2013 05:46:26 am
I try to make time each day to do something artistic even if it is just doodling something while I am on the phone. 12/3/2013 10:28:07 pm
I make time for my art by scheduling studio time...writing it on my calendar. Thank you for the chance to win your amazing deck!!

Hi there! I found you via Roben Marie's blog and I'm totally loving your MMID, such a wonderful idea for when our muse is on vacation :p Ive recently returned to school, and along with work and everyday life, it can be hard to make the time for art. Normally, I tend to allow myself the weekends to just play and create backgrounds in my journals, and I add collage elements throughout the week when time permits. I then like to doodle or journal during my lunch break at work, in between classes, or before bedtime. Thanks for sharing your art with us, i'm off to watch your other videos :)

if I waited for a time where I wasn't tired or busy I'd never find time for art, so I came to the conclusion that art can be done ANYWHERE, you just have to take in the moments... they pop up at any time. I'm someone who does certain types of art (usually oils or acrylics) depending on my emotions and mood of that specific time. But when it comes to mixed media I bring my journal, a few paint pens, copic markers and several other must haves with me any place I go because you never know what things will need to be documented then and there :) 12/4/2013 10:01:45 am
I usually make time for art with the last hour I have before Kindergarten pickup. Frantic but a good way to de-stress. 12/4/2013 10:04:45 am
I commented above but I also signed up for newsletter followed on FB, Twitter and Instagram. Did I do the contest correctly? Loving the blog hop! 12/4/2013 10:24:30 am
It was so amazing watching you work using the inspiration cards. Would love to win a set.

This deck is a great concept...and who would've thought of using a combo of prompts! Your video has just shown me a new way of squeezing in creative time by using these cards! I am so excited about this! My biggest problem is time management. I work a full time job, and make jewelry, which I have a passion for, but I have a very big passion for collage and art and always have the push and pull of when will I get to do art. I am usually sleep deprived because I stay up doing art! Love what you have done!
Loved seeing your deck-prompted journalling - great to get an idea of the cards and what they'll inspire. Saves you the time of making decisions - you just go with what comes up - fabulous! 12/5/2013 12:13:42 am
I really appreciate the idea of these inspiration cards. They can trigger so much creativity. I also see them as helping me learn how to develop layers.

I love this idea! How great for when you get stuck, huh? Look at what Carolyn Dube did with a canvas she was stuck on for a year! Thanks for posting, and good luck.

The early morning hours are such a perfect time to create and play. The house is still....coffee brewing....and my mind is free from the days' distractions. There are some days I call..ad lib ...5 minutes here...10 minutes there....another 10 minutes while dinner is cooking...the deck...what a genius idea!

I love your creations using the cards. I would love to use a set myself to help me make decisions about what to lay down on my page. I make time for art by getting all my chores done at the speed of light and then have the rest of the day/weekend to play, play, play.

I make time for art firstly by enjoying watching vids for inspiration; my task it to move to the next step and just DO to be quite honest. I have so many to-do items that I feel guilty to take time out for my art time but I'm realizing that it's relaxation therapy and meditation time. Your MMID will help me get kick-started for sure. :)

Oh, first of all I love this deck of cards. What a great idea. I also really enjoy the blog hop and all videos. How I make time to create art? I try to do all the terrible things like cleaning first. Then when I have time left over, I can use that for art journaling. The beginning of the evening is the best time for me.

I am blessed with a room of my own that I go into as often as I can each day. Sometimes I am in there most of the day and even most of the night when playing. 12/8/2013 01:59:06 pm
On this is a wonderful prize. Thanks for giving us a chance to win. I bet it would make a gift Christmas gift for a crafty person.

always make time for art early morning...these cards would really make a great birthday gift for myself....;-) Wonderful project. Love how your page came about. I try to make time for art by just playing with paint. Even no "real" project evolves, just getting my fingers messy gets my creative juices flowing. And I check out blogs/videos..... that always gets me in the mood to make art. Thanks for the chance to win.

My husband and I often watch TV or talk in our family room after dinner. I do not have a dedicated room to work in, but I do have a table on wheels that I store in a guest bedroom. In the evening, I roll the table out to the family room so that I can work on my projects and still be able to visit. 12/9/2013 01:22:29 am
I'm retired also, so I always plan studio time amongst the other daily happenings every day. Then at night since I enjoy spending time with my husband who still works during the day, I sit on the couchto watch tv with him and use that time to doodle in my journals. The deck looks fun to use and would help out when I don't feel so inspired. :)

love the Deck and your video-so inspiring! Instead of fretting over what comes next in my art journey, I can just pick a card! This will go to the top of my wish list. Hello, Santa? Are you listening?!

ooppss! forgot to answer your question! I make time for art by "power-prepping". I have school trays filled with different mediums and tools that I can grab when I have some free time, plus a journal, and I have an 'artsy time'! 12/9/2013 12:07:46 pm
Love deck & video! Making time for art is a challenge right now, but when I do have time, I jump head first and don't stop until I absolutely have to. textilerecycler@yahoo(dot)com
