Vocabulary to note: In this policy the words "participant" and "participants" refers to anyone who registers for a class, workshop, retreat, or webinar hosted by Kiala Givehand.
The word "event" refers to any class, workshop, retreat, or webinar hosted by Kiala Givehand. -------------------------------------- The following is the general policy for cancellations and potential refunds for participants who cannot attend events for which they registered. For travel related events, there may be different cancellation policies. In that case, we will make those policies known on the sales page of the event and they shall supersede any contradicting policy stated here.
Your seat at an event is reserved with full registration or a non-refundable deposit (when available on an event-by-event basis). We cannot and will not verbally “hold” spots.
We will accept non-refundable deposits to hold registration for certain events. When applicable, this will be displayed prominently on the sales page for that event. Full payment for events are due before the event and will be noted on the event sales page.
In the case where an event does not reach minimum enrollment and is cancelled, all payments will be refunded in full, and you will be notified by email and/or phone call if an event is being cancelled. We do our best not to cancel events that require travel to faraway places, but if that should happen, we DO NOT reimburse you for any travel costs.
Refunds for events a participant cannot attend must be requested in writing via email. Refunds may be given (minus 10% of the total event fee) for cancellations received within 48 hours of registration. Refunds for non-refundable deposits will NOT be given under any circumstance. Please select your events mindfully and with intention. There will be no refunds for cancellations within 30 days of an event (this number may be different for destination events).
If your cancellation jeopardizes the minimum number needed to hold the event, there will be neither refunds nor event credit. The minimum number to hold a workshop is always prominently advertised on the sales page.
Events are designed only for those who paid and registered. We ask that you respect the adult education environment and refrain from bringing young children who cannot monitor/govern themselves, or non-registered guests to the events without prior written permission from Kiala. In cases where we allow non-participating travel buddies, we cannot accommodate "on location" registration. That means if your travel buddy gets to the event and decides he/she wants to participate, we will NOT be able to allow this in most cases.
Retreat Specific Cancellation Policy
IF YOU CANCEL A RETREAT/PILGRIMAGE:
121+ DAYS PRIOR TO THE START OF THE RETREAT: 75% of the total you've paid will be refunded, MINUS the non-refundable deposit and any fees for processing your payment(s) and refund.
96 - 120 DAYS PRIOR TO THE START OF THE RETREAT: 30% of the total you've paid will be refunded, MINUS the non-refundable deposit and fees for processing your payment(s) and refund.
95 DAYS PRIOR TO THE START OF THE RETREAT: Absolutely no refunds or credits will be given during this period.
In most cases, we do not allow payments to be transferred to another participant. We can make exceptions to this on a case-by-case basis.
