About the Class

A Creative Journey into Ancient Wisdom
Runes, or runestaves, are the language of the mysteries of the North. In them, the secrets of the Universe are found- the language of nature, the nature of the universe, our relationship to time, and at last, our own nature. Step into the world of the runes—mystical symbols carved with meaning, memory & magic. This three-part introductory series is your gateway into the rich history & practical power of Runes as a divination tool for clarity, self-reflection & spiritual guidance.

Whether you’re rune-curious or rune-skeptic, this course will have you ready to deepen your intuitive toolkit. Shae will immerse us in an experience that is both educational and creative. You’ll not only learn about the runes—you’ll craft your own set with intention & personal meaning.

Over three sessions we will dip our toes into this ancient esoteric technology of the North and learn a bit about the use of runes for divination, magick and self inquiry. We will make our own set of runes, learn how to cast them and how to interpret the energetics of the runestaves.

In this three part class, you’ll:

• Discover the ancient origins & mythology behind the runes and their use
• Explore how to interpret runic symbols for personal insight and everyday guidance
• Practice simple casting techniques & build confidence in your own intuitive style
• Participate in a hands-on Create & Chat session where you’ll make your own rune set using materials that speak to you

This course welcomes all levels—no previous experience required. Bring your curiosity, your creativity, and your questions as we journey into the symbolic language of the runes.

Session One: May 8th

Making a Set of Runes
One of the best ways to learn each symbol on a set of runes is to make your own. Whether on paper or carved into stone, this practice is meant to help you connect with the symbols, get creative, and personalize your tools.

Session Two: May 15th

Divining With Runes
Explore ways to use runes for
journaling, divining, and deeper self-reflection. We will use our runes that we created during session one (or a set you purchased) for learning how to cast them and read with them.

Session Three: May 29th

Deeper Connection with the Runes
We’ll explore techniques to interpret the symbols on your runes, for seeking clarity, wisdom, and a deeper connection with your inner self. We may even get to practice reading with the runes for others.

Your Guide

Shae Freeman

Shae Freeman is a GenXer, symbologist, Applied Astrologer, Reiki Master trained in three lineages, advanced Akashic Records practitioner, certified herbalist, astro physics major turned art major, crystal healer, and all around mystic.

She has experience with medical astrology, astrocartography, auric field studies, and flower essences, among MANY other things. She is a mixed media and collage artist, a self-proclaimed bird-nerd, and lover of tarot. In other words, she's our people!!! 

In 2024, Shae joined the LifeAlchemy Academy™ teaching roster with several lovely offerings and quickly became a Core Teacher in the program. She's also the other voice you hear on our Cosmic Conversation calls for the community.

How Registration Works

This is just an information page. The course content will be housed in our online academy, The LifeAlchemy Academy™ (hosted on the Mighty Network platform). When you are ready to register, click any of the CLICK HERE TO JOIN US buttons on this page and you'll be taken to a sign up/login page. If you are a member of the LifeAlchemy Academy™ network, you will be asked to login. If you are new to the network, create a free account to complete your registration.

After your registration is complete, you'll gain instant access to the classroom space on Mighty Network so that you can gather your supplies and get the link for joining the first call.

LIVE SESSIONS

We meet on the following days:

​The sessions will be recorded and made available to you in the classroom. 
You will have access to the replay until the course is retired (you'll be given 30 days notice before that happens). 
​Shae will be available to answer questions in the classroom space for 30 days after the class ends. Pull Pen Paint Students you can find her in the PPP discussion space after the 30 days. 

PRIVATE DISCUSSION SPACE

As a participant in this class, you will gain access to a private discussion space where Shae will be available to answer questions and respond to your insights and ah-ha's during the class and for 30 days after our final session.

SIMPLE SUPPLIES

To make your runes you'll need basic supplies to begin: 

• Your journal and writing implement
• A printer OR heavy weight drawing paper and markers, pencils, etc.
• Laminator (optional)
• Fimo, Sculpey or similar air dry/bake polymer clay, any color you like (if making a 3D set of runes, optional)
• A Viking helmet (optional)

Meet Modern Mystic, Kiala Givehand

Kiala Givehand, Creator of The LifeAlchemy Academy™

Hello Beautiful Creative You!
I'm happy you're here. I'm Kiala Givehand, a multi-passionate intuitive & intentional creative. I walk through the world as a LifeAlchemist™ for creative, heart-centered, soul-filled women who want to change the world by shining their light more fully and more brightly. I call myself a LifeAlchemist™ because I help women bring together all the parts of themselves to create a life they love. As an Alchemist, I support women through creative and spiritual awakenings and guide them towards empowerment.

As an artist, I make (and sometimes sell) handmade journals using a mix of mediums. I host workshops, retreats and online classes where I get to teach the things that nourish my soul -- bookbinding, journaling, printmaking, creative writing, astrology, Tarot, Human Design, and self-discovery through transformational tools and content.

For almost 20 years, I taught English, Language Arts, and Creative Writing at every educational level, while simultaneously traveling the U.S. delivering workshops and presentations to educators. While I no longer travel to work with teachers, I now enjoy working one-on-one and in small groups with mystics, seekers, healers, & creatives. I do this work because I love helping women find the thing that fills them with joy and watching them pursue it without regrets or apologies.

I cherish every single day and treat life as one amazing adventure. I play with paint and watercolor, fold paper into books, write poetry, short fiction, & creative non-fiction, and guide women through sacred remembering of who they truly are. But always, every single day, I journal and do something that I feel is creative. Oh!! And did I mention that I'm the proud owner of a fabulous (and ever growing) collection of fountain pens? (I know. Geek alert!)

When does the CLASS start and finish?

Please see the dates above for the start of the class. Once you register you get access to any pre-session content. 

What if I don't know anything about Runes?

This is a class for all levels. Shae is sharing her love of runes with us and will help you no matter which level you're on. 

What if I can't attend any of the live sessions?

Each session is recorded and made available shortly after it ends. You can rewatch as many times as you need to while the content is available. However, please keep in mind that the real benefit of this INTERACTIVE class is to be present in real time with the group. This is how you get the most benefit from this course. 

What if i have never worked with Runes? 

You are welcomed here. Come on in. If you are curious and open, you're in the right place. 

Do you guarantee that I will have a better life after this CLASS?

Absolutely not. We can't guarantee that because at LifeAlchemy Academy™, we believe that your understanding of any tool depends on your willingness to study it, work with it, and learn the symbols. There is also great benefit in honing your intuition. Without these things, your understanding of any divination tool will remain surface level. 

What if I am unhappy with the offering?

Once you get access to the content of the class, you will not be eligible for a refund. If you are unhappy after the content becomes available, email me (Kiala) and let's chat. Life getting in the way, or screwing up the time zone are NOT refundable situations. Please purchase mindfully.
