Hump Day How-To: High Flow Paints

WELCOME to the first "Hump Day How-To" -- the first of 52 tutorial-like blog posts featuring mixed media, book binding, or art journaling techniques. 

My goal with this weekly series is to share/demo some of my favorite techniques and to experiment with new products. Some of these posts will have a video (see below) and others will simply show step-by-step photos. 

In this first installment, I show you how I make my own version of the high flow acrylic paints.

Materials used: 

• Golden Airbrush Medium
• Golden Fluid Acrylic in Cobalt Turquoise
• Empty pointed-tip bottle

Materials shown:

• Montana Refillable Acrylic Paint Pens
• Liquitex Basics Acrylic Paint in Light Portrait Pink
• Craft Essentials Acrylic Paint in Sky Blue
• Water Brush

Things to consider if you decide to make your own: 

• the ratio of airbrush medium to paint is important and you may need to play around a bit until you find the consistency you like. 
• putting paint inside the Montana markers can be a little tricky and messy, so just take your time -- you'll love the results. 
• I don't show it in this video, but dripping the high flow paints together can create an amazing effect.
